Music. Production. Theatre. Joy .
Jess Kav is an Irish-born Multidisciplinary artist. A seasoned musician, Kav is also a playwright, spoken word artist, actor, facilitator and music producer.
A sign of the times. We must Diversify.
Music
Kav has performed and collaborated with many greats. Her energy and lighting sharp performances have caught the eye of the best in the industry, leading her to collaborate with The Waterboys, Hozier, Eleanor McEvoy, Villagers, Jape and Kodaline over the last ten years.
Her talents and expertise have most recently found her on a stadium tour with Billy Idol in 2025.
Finding herself without a band over lockdown, she began to diversify; writing for The Irish Times, performing her poetry at The National Concert Hall, speaking on The Tommy Tiernan Show and training in music production.
Theatre
In 2022 she was invited to be a member of “Hot Brown Honey’s Hive City Legacy” where BIPOC femmes and theatre experts from Australia and the UK mentored an ensemble of creative femmes of colour in Ireland to write and create their own work, highlighting their experiences as women of colour in Ireland. A year later, Kav found herself on the stage of the the national theatre (Abbey Theatre) with “Somewhere Out There You” and a year after that Kav wrote and performed in her first self produced theatre piece “Fermented dreams” which debuted at The Dublin Fringe festival 2024.
Community
Since 2021, Kav has been deeply engaged in community arts projects, working with artists such as Veronica Coburn-Gray and Caelainn Hogan. She felt a light grow in her, seeing how art influenced and healed communities in real time. Since then, Kav has been working with South Dublin County Council under the organisation “Noise Music” where she facilitates classes and workshops for children and teenagers teaching them how to write lyrics, spoken word and produce their own music.
Production
In 2024 Kav was awarded the highly prestigious Arts Council Music Bursary to continue developing her work as a musician, producer and composer for theatre and multidisciplinary performances. She is enjoying the privilege of paying herself to fail. She is loving the process.
Kav is releasing her original music and journaling the process on her Patreon and Substack while preparing for her stadium tour with Billy Idol of South America in November.
