The ’Can I Push Back?' merch was designed as a wearable form of activism - to reassess how we respond in the presence of injustice // to assert our power to call it out.
The artwork is a picture of Jess' mother who passed away in 2006. Jess has repeatedly invoked her mother's energy, strength and resilience over the last month as we fight against racism in all its forms and violence against BIPOC. We push back together.
All proceeds are going to MASI who are doing amazing work to end direct provision, and fight for the right to work and education for asylum seekers.
Every one of us has an opportunity to recognise and react in the face of racism whether that’s by marching, raising funds or being willing to call out racist micro-aggressions and systematic inequality. This is not a phase. We can all do something, we can all do better!
